I love it when my best friend Toni introduces me to new music...

Especially when it's completely obscure, but AWESOME!

Coolest website EVER!

I have just found the absolute best site ever for an art director.

http://www.yourfonts.com/

You can turn your handwriting (or anything that you can imagine and draw) into a real font on your computer. I just made mine.....I'm going to go back and do it more perfectly later, but for now I was just testing...

This is going to be sooo useful when we have to do hand-drawn fonts for ads later on, so we don't look "studenty". Would've been helpful last quarter when we were doing Sylvia's logo shit too. Oh well. Better late than never!

I REALLY REALLY want it!

I am dying for this 100% Recycled material backpack! Even if it wasn't eco-friendly I absolutely love the design and the fact that it can hold my 17" laptop. Why does my birthday have to be so far away??

Lawl

This made me laugh today

10 "friends" for a burger

Yea, I did it. It was fun. Hope I didn't piss anybody off.

EDIT: HOW LAME!! It doesn't really notify the people that you removed them as friends! Although that is kind of a relief, it's still really lame! How do they expect to spread word of the app?

iTunes makeover

Come this May, the chains that tie me to using an iPod will disappear, but will that matter at all?

iTunes currently has it so that most of the music you purchase through them can only be played on an iPod. Unless you buy the "iTunes Plus" version, which is basically a DRM-free version of the song. (Meaning you can use it anywhere, on any device that plays MP3s). However, by May 2009, all songs on iTunes will be iTunes Plus material. Also, they will be dropping prices of some songs to $0.69 and raising prices of newer releases to $1.29. This is all really interesting to me. I'm not sure if they'll see a drop in purchasing of popular songs (doubtful), but they will def. see a surge in purchasing of the cheaper ones. And they'll gain a whole lot more customers now that their clientel isn't limited to people who own iPods.

Does this mean that I'm going to go out and buy a Zune or Creative Zen player instead? Hell no. Apple is still pretty superior in my mind. It's just nice to know I now have the option to switch if I ever wanted to. (But seriously, why would I?)

I'll Be There For You

So I've been watching a bunch of FRIENDS episodes lately, and it's making me really miss having a close group of friends to always hang out with. I really wish I had a group like that now, especially with the whole living together thing. I would love to live in a big house with a group of good friends, if it weren't for my whole compulsive clean thing. Sometimes the Circus feels like FRIENDS, but we all don't get to hang out enough for it to be like that. I miss that super tight-knit feeling, always having someone to hang out with. Don't get me wrong. I have some really awesome friends. The best I've had my whole life. Two here, two from Miami, and one back home. I'm just thinking about how awesome it would be if I could have all those people together. And for them to be friends. It'd be like my own perfect little world. :)

PS. I really like this ad.

You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming? That's where I'll always love you, Peter Pan. That's where I'll be waiting.

Let's Try This Again

Since it's a new year and all, I'm going to try to start keeping a blog again. But I'm not going to use it as my diary like my old blogs used to be. I'm just too paranoid about releasing my inner-most thoughts onto the internet without any guarantee that they will be found by the wrong person. So this is more or less going to be me posting things I find online that I find interesting, or my random, current thoughts about things going on in my life or just society in general.

I'm using a template design for now, but as a "art school" student, I feel really guilty about not creating something completely from scratch. So this is just temporary until I find the time and inspiration to make my own graphics. Anyways, it's just the background image that I'm using, so it shouldn't take long for me to make a new one. I've def. learned that I'm into that grungy look when it comes to designing things though.

So I was just watching Becoming Jane, starring Anne Hathaway and James McAvoy. I love that movie, despite the non-traditional happy ending. It amazes me that Jane Austen could write such amazing stories about love and happiness, when she never got to keep such things in her own life. According to the story, she did get to fall in love, but she made a enormously difficult and selfless decision and gave it all up. And where a normal person would probably live in bitterness for the rest of their lives, she went on to write 6 of the most beautiful and well-known love stories in literature. You gotta give the woman some credit. I absolutely love her style of writing too.
